MEMBERSHIP AT GATEWAY CHURCH

We have a four-part strategy of ministry at Gateway Church in the endeavour of helping people become SERVANTS - disciples, followers of Jesus Christ. The first part of that strategy is to INCLUDE people, and membership is a component of that. See our About Us page for more info about our mission, values & strategy.

It is right, lawful and necessary for Gateway Church to maintain a body of members, for spiritual unity, relational accountability, and to meet legal requirements for organizations in Canada. Membership has at its heart, the issue of belonging, and also allows for individuals to have a voice and cast their vote for organizational issues at our annual business meeting.  

A few times per year we have a membership class for those who are seeking to become members of Gateway Church. Our lead pastor Rick Boyes shares the mission, strategy and values of Gateway Church, with the goal of including people who will be committed to the vision and direction of our church. This class is a prerequisite to holding official membership at Gateway Church, even for those who have had membership at other churches. You must be in regular attendance at Gateway Church for at least 3 months to pursue membership.
